Pedal power and a golf day have raised more than £4,000 for charity.

The Rotary Club of Pocklington and Market Weighton staged two sporting events and thanks local individuals and businesses for their sponsorship.

The Pock Pedal Sportive, in association with Clifton Cycling Club, attracted over 300 entrants. Riders could choose a circuit around the Wolds of 25, 60 or 100 miles, starting and finishing at the Henry Thirsk Amenity Centre, on The Balk, in Pocklington.

The charity golf day took place at the KP Club in Kilnwick Percy. The event attracted 50 entrants, playing a four-ball betterball, with a half-way house and a meal afterwards. The main charities to benefit from these events are Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Action Medical Research.
