Five volunteers from the charity Caring for Cats pulled on their walking boots to raise much-needed funds for the charity.

Arron, Emma, Jason, Denny and Eric, accompanied by two border collies, ‘Sam’ and ‘Jazz’, walked from the Caring for Cats shop on Beverley’s Dyer Lane, to the charity’s homing centre on, York Road, Market Weighton, which is a distance of 14 miles. The charity walk raised more than £300 for Caring for Cats, which includes a £200 donation from a company called Hunger Calls. Other funds were donated by members of the public, the Goodmanham Arms pub, which contributed £50, and customers of Harpers fish and chips shop in Market Weighton, who gave in excess of £80 in sponsorship. Caring for Cats has thanked all the businesses and individuals who helped make the event a huge success.
