Free parking will again be available in East Riding Council-run car parks and on-street parking locations for the three weekends running up to Christmas.

It means that pay and display machines in these locations will be clearly marked to let shoppers preparing for the festive season know there is no charge for the weekends of 5-6, 12-13 and 19-20 December. The start of the scheme will once again coincide with ‘Small Business Saturday’ a national day that aims to promote the importance of small and independent traders. All council car parks will be free on Saturday 5, 12 and 19 and Sunday 6, 13 and 20 December, from 8am on Saturday until 8am on Monday. It is the sixth year that the council has run the scheme.
