An innovative menu with six courses featuring ice cream will be served at a farm shop’s latest ‘Come Dine With Me’ event.
Drewton’s Farm Shop, near South Cave, will be serving ice cream for starter, main course and dessert, not to mention ice cream canapés, an ice cream fish course and an ice cream accompaniment with coffee.
All of the ice cream will be provided by Denby Dale-based Yummy Yorkshire Ice Cream, which supplies its products to the farm shop.
The menu is not as sickly as it might sound as many of the ice cream flavours being used are savoury rather than sweet.
Katie Taylor, proprietor of Drewton’s Farm Shop, said: “The flavour combinations work wonderfully in the menu devised by our head chef, which also feature ingredients provided by a number of the food and drink producers who supply their goods to the farm shop. It will really make people rethink the way they use ice cream.”
The ‘Come Dine With Me’ events aim to showcase the network of more than 250 Yorkshire-based food and drink producers who supply the farm shop. The producers whose ingredients are used to create the dishes on the menu will attend the meal to chat to diners about how they’re produced.
The event will take place on Friday 11 April at 7.30pm. Places, priced at £38 per person, can be booked by calling 01430 425079.
