Savage attack with a baseball bat

A PUB landlord who had his former best friend beaten up has been handed a seven year jail sentence.

Alan Lumley, who used to run the Yorkway Motel in Pocklington, ordered two thugs to “teach a lesson” to Michael Brown, the current manager of the business on the the A1079.

Mr Brown was left permanently blind in one eye after the savage attack, which was carried out by two thugs who drank at the pub Lumley was running in Grimsby at the time.

The two thugs who carried out the attack with a baseball bat outside the Yorkway Motel were handed two-year sentences at Hull Crown Court.
