Golfers will be teeing off for charity later this month.

Pocklington and Market Weighton Rotary Club is holding its 18th annual Charity Golf Day on Friday 30 August at The Oaks Golf Club, Aughton, York.

Funds raised from the event, starting at 10.30am, will be donated to Action Medical Research.

Keith Somerscale, from the Rotary Club, said: “The golf day is one of the main fundraising events of the club and has enabled them to donate approximately £40,000 to worthwhile charities, including Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Martin House Hospice, McMillan Nurses, York Diabetes Centre, Alzheimer’s Society, Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, Hope & Homes for children and many more.”

If you are a golfer and would like to contribute to the charity event, with a meal afterwards and halfway house snack, call Gordon Clarke on 01759 303200 or 07929 340511 for an entry form.

There is also an opportunity to sponsor a hole for £50.

All companies or individuals names will be displayed on the tees and in any advertising literature.
