A car boot sale held in Pocklington last Saturday attracted a big turnout, as visitors hunted for a bargain.

The event was held on West Green, with 38 cars selling a variety of goods.

Held in aid of St Mary and St Joseph Primary School in Pocklington, the sale raised £390.

Organiser Jane Jackson said: “It went really well. Lots turned out, there were 38 cars, and lots of people turned up to buy.

“We usually have four or five car boot sales a year. The community spirit is fantastic.”

The next car boot sale on West Green will be held on 12 June. Sellers can arrive from 8am. It costs £5 per car.
