Residents flock to Buddhist Centre in Pocklington for garden fete

A wide range of attractions and stalls kept visitors to Pocklington’s Madhyamaka Centre entertained during its annual garden fete.

The event featured craft, bric-a-brac and food stalls, live music in the cafe, guided tours of Kilnwick Percy Hall and guided meditations.

There was also a bouncy castle, water slide and face painting for youngsters to enjoy.

Ann Harland, from the Buddhist Centre, said: “It was a successful day.

“The weather was very kind to us, there was lots of sun.

“There were lots of children who seemed to love all the games and face painting. The adults loved it as well.”

The long-running event has been held on the grounds surrounding Kilnwick Percy Hall every summer since before the Madhyamaka Centre started using the building in 1986.
