Register to vote or face missing out on election

Residents in Pocklington and the surrounding area are reminded to make sure they are on the electoral register so they do not miss out on the chance to vote.

On 7 May the combined Parliamentary, local and parish elections will take place in the East Riding but people need to be registered in order to have a say.

The deadline for people to register so they can vote in the May elections is 20 April and registration can easily be completed online by going to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

Registered electors will receive poll cards but people are reminded they do not need to have a card in order to vote, they can just attend their local polling station and give their name and address in order to be issued with a ballot paper.
