A parish council has requested that East Riding Council commission a feasibility study into the possibility of relocating the household waste recycling site in Pocklington.

Hayton and Burnby Parish Council says the site, on Burnby Lane, causes traffic problems and want it to be relocated.

Jo Green, the parish council’s clerk, said: “It causes problems for Hayton and Burnby because of skip lorries that come this way. It’s putting traffic on Burnby Lane so with the new houses being on there it will become more of a problem.”

The parish council believes Pocklington Industrial Estate would be a better location for the site.

An East Riding Council spokesperson said: “In response to a request from the parish council, this council will be prepared to consider an alternative location for this household waste and recycling site in due course.”
