It’s been a record-breaking past 12 months for the Pocklington Lions Club.
During its last fundraising year, which started last summer, the charitable organisation raised and donated an impressive £12,000 to local causes.
This is the most the Lions has ever raised during a fundraising year since it was formed in 1962.
The club’s president, Graham Gillyon, explained: “Over Christmas alone last year we raised £2,000 more than the previous year.
“Our fundraising total has increased by about 30% through more activity over the course of the year.” Full story in this Thursday’s paper (18 July).
