YOUNG people in the local area are being offered the chance to become rail engineering apprentices.

A regional training academy has been launched to provide 100 people, aged between 17 and 24, with apprenticeships.

Vital Skills Training, which is part of Vital Services Group (VSG), has teamed up with York College at the Yorkshire Rail Academy (YRA) to create the academy, which will support learners working on rail projects across Yorkshire and the East of England.
