The Quirky Quads Lifestyle team has been busy throughout the summer raising money for an animal charity.

The team of four girls, Katie Elgey, Laura Kelly, Hollie Davison and Maddie Scott, are all aged 11 and are about to start at Beverley High School, moving up from Beverley Minster Primary School.

This was the second year the girls had participated in the Lifestyle project. Last year they raised money for Yorkshire Cancer Research and this year they supported the Hull Animal Welfare Trust.

The girls held a street collection in Beverley town centre, did bag packing in Heron, as well as car washing, dog walking and singing and dancing.

They also collected cat and dog food, with a pet food collection outside Morrisons collecting hundreds of pounds worth of pet food.

They completed their project by helping set up at the welfare trust’s annual open day and volunteering on the book stall.

Altogether they raised and presented cheques totally £491.07p to chairman Sue Sewell.

The girls would like to thank everyone who helped them to raise so much money.
