Eco-friendly youngsters at Barmby Moor Primary School have been improving the school grounds as part of an event to increase their environmental awareness.
Pupils took part in the national Green Day, run by the Landscape Institute, which aims to make children more aware of how they can make their school more sustainable.
Children worked in house teams to improve the grounds, which included building a bug hotel, making a cold frame from recycled pop bottles and creating art from recycled materials to decorate the grounds.
All pupils dressed in green for the event.
Jenny Marsden, a Year 5 and 6 teacher at the school, said: “The children absolutely loved it.
“They loved being outside.”
