Pupil performs after 10 years

a FORMER pupil will return to her school next week to give a musical performance.

Georgiana Fodor will step foot back in Pocklington School, 10 years after she left. Georgiana was the Pocklington Silvestri Music Scholar at Pocklington in 2000. She comes from Cluj in north west Romania and during her tenure as Silvestri Scholar studied piano with Faye Williams.

After leaving West Green, Georgiana went on to study at the Sigismund Toduta Music School in Cluj-Napoca, Romania subsequently completing studies at Conservatories in Paris and Moscow. She now works as a professional pianist. On Tuesday, 10 May, she will perform a programme of works by composers including Mozart, Lizt, Chopin, Scriabin and Enescu.

Held at the Tom Stoppard Centre on Tuesday, 10 May at 7.30 pm, it is open to the general public.

Tickets are priced £7.50 (£5 concessions) are available from school reception, by phoning (01759) 321200 or at the door on the night. All proceeds will be donated to the Pocklington 500 Appeal.
