More than £600 was raised during a charity pub night at the Boot and Slipper in Barmby Moor recently.

It featured entertainment from 60s rock and roll band Riggwelted and a fundraising raffle.

Husband and wife Stewart and Kath Harvey, from York, organised the event, which raised a total of £615 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

Sharon Oakley, from the BHF, said: “We’d like to thank Stewart and Kath Harvey for organising such a fantastic event and for presenting us with such a generous donation.

“The BHF can only continue its life-saving and life-changing work thanks to money raised from events like this.

“We urgently need more people like them to support us.”
