The owners of a traditional village pub are raising a glass after it was named one of the 50 best watering holes in the country.
The Star at Sancton, owned and run by husband-and-wife team Ben and Lindsey Cox, has also been listed in the 2015 Good Food Guide.
The pub has been listed in foodie bible The Good Food Guide for several years running. However, the authors of the guide also compile a list of the 50 best pubs in the country and, for 2015, The Star makes its first appearance at number 41.
The guide has given The Star a rating of four for the standard of its cooking, which denotes a ‘dedicated, focused approach’, ‘good classical skills’ and ‘high-quality ingredients’.
