The Pocklington Post showed its gratitude to the team of editorial contributors who have helped with the paper’s revival by presenting them with luxury Sheaffer pens and a bottle of wine.

The latest gathering of the Pocklington Post editorial panel took place at Judson’s bar on Pocklington’s Market Place.

The Post was recently commended at the prestigious Newsawards 2015, but was pipped to the big prize by The Guardian. It was nominated for the Best Use of User Generated Content at the national awards.

A member of the editorial panel, Steve Marsdin, said: “To be recognised alongside the BBC and The Guardian is fantastic for the paper.”

Another member, Bob Ellis, said: “I think it is excellent. For the paper to get that sort of creditation ut speaks volumes for the community.”
