Police reveal name of Beverley motorcyclist who died near Sutton Bank

Police have revealed the name of a Beverley motorcyclist who died in a collision on the A170 near Sutton Bank in North Yorkshire.

He is Mr Chris Walker, aged 55, from Beverley, East Yorkshire.

An inquest into Mr Walker’s death has been opened and adjourned.

Mr Walker was riding a Ducati sport bike and was travelling towards Sutton Bank from Thirsk on the A170 when a collision occurred at Sutton-under-Whitestonecliffe.

Police said: “It is believed the rider was overtaking a line of other vehicles when he collided with a blue Vauxhall Astra car that was turning right into the Bagby junction.”

The man driving the Astra escaped uninjured but was left shocked by the incident.

Witnesses to the collision are urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Julian Pearson.
