THIS is the man police want to speak with in connection to the armed robbery at Pocklington’s Co-op on Thursday afternoon.

The man walked into the Market Street shop at around 1.50pm and demanded cash while brandishing a firearm.

He got away with a bundle of cash from the till and the safe and made off on foot.

Officers attended and a large-area search was conducted for the man using the police helicopter, but to no avail.

The man is described as white, approximately 6ft 2in tall with a medium build and aged in his late 30’s to early 40’s. He was wearing blue baggy trousers, a fleece jacket, black gloves, black hat and black walking boots.

Police would also like to speak to the driver of a black coloured Transit-style van which was seen in the area at the time of the incident as the driver may be able to assist with inquiries.
