Police Appeal Over Inappropriate Behaviour, Lincoln Way, Beverley, East Yorkshire

POLICE are trying to identify a teenager who allegedly squeezed a woman’s bum near to a playing field in Beverley.

At 7.30pm on Wednesday August 22, a 39-year-old local woman was walking home along the path through the park on Lincoln Way in Beverley.

She passed several people walking in the opposite direction; in particular a dog walker and a female friend, and then a man aged about 17-year-old talking on his mobile phone.

“As the woman carried on through walking home she allegedly felt a presence behind her, briefly turning around, she saw the 17-year-old boy behind her and he squeezed her bottom,” said police press officer Laura Gawthorpe.

“With a hand gesture he allegedly signalled her to come to the bushes, before asking her if she would like to participate in sexual activities.

“The woman refused and asked him to leave her alone.

“The lady walked home and noticed the man remained in his original position, stood by a gate, near the park, on Lincoln Way, before she lost sight of him.

“The lady rang the police, to notify us of the unusual activity.”

Officers investigating the allegation, would like to speak to anyone who may have walked along Lincoln Way in Beverley between 1920hrs and 1940hrs last Wednesday and witnessed the incident, or may have seen a man aged between 17 – 18-year-old, 5ft 5ins tall, of a medium build, with brown curly hair and green eyes in the area between those times to contact the police.
