Organisers of Pocktoberfest, Pocklington’s annual music and beer festival, have announced that due to essential building work at the festival site, the event will not be taking place this year.
First staged at The Old Railway Station in 2011, Pocktoberfest has become a hugely popular two day festival with people travelling into the town from all over the region to attend.
The Old Railway Station, which is owned by Pocklington School, required some essential building work which needed planning permission. As a listed building any work has to be approved first and this can and has been a lengthy process. Consequently until this was granted, the festival was unable to proceed with bookings for this year’s music line up.
The organiser say they have simply ‘run out of time’ this year so a decision has been made to focus on making Pocktoberfest even bigger and better in 2015 and to this end further announcements will be made early in the autumn.
