The countdown to Pocktoberfest 2012 is well underway after organisers unveiled a giant promotional banner for the festival in Market Place.

Organisers hope the banner, will encourage more people to come along and enjoy all the great acts on show.

This year’s festival takes place on 27 and 28 October at Pocklington Arts Centre and with acts such as Simon Fowler and Oscar Harrison from Ocean Colour Scene, Echo and the Bunnymen and Ellen and the Escapades, Pocktoberfest 2012 promises to be an unforgettable occasion.

Bob Ellis, from the Pocktoberfest Committee, said: “This will be our 9th Pocktoberfest and the lineup this year is stunning. It’s through this banner and our other activities that we can get the festival in peoples’ minds.

“When Pocktoberfest first started it was a very small affair but now it has grown into a big music and beer festival with loads going on.

“We are primarily supporting Help for Heroes this year because of the area’s military connections.

“We’re hoping to get over 1,000 people coming each day so it is better to get your tickets in advance now.”

Sunday tickets for Pocktoberfest are £43 adults and £30 for under 18s, with a family ticket (two adults and two children) costing £130, whilst a Saturday ticket costs £10.

Pocktoberfest is a collaboration between Pocklington Round Table, Pocklington Arts Centre and Pocklington School and all tickets are available from Pocklington Arts Centre or online at www.pocklingtonartscentre.co.uk
