A Pocklington Provincial ward councillor is looking forward to the year ahead after being elected chairman of East Riding Council.

Coun Claude Mole, 67, from Shiptonthorpe, who was previously vice chairman of the local authority, has succeeded Coun Chad Chadwick and will serve until May 2014. He was elected during an annual meeting of the council last Thursday.
