Householders in Pocklington will receive the same bill from the town council this year – but Market Weighton residents may face a slight increase in theirs.

Pocklington Town Council met on Wednesday 8 January, when members decided to keep the precept the same for 2014-15, meaning the average band D household in Pocklington will again pay £70.35.

The Mayor of Pocklington, councillor Ann Cox, said: “The council is pleased with the outcome which means that, if the police and fire authorities also decide on a nil growth budget, local rates will remain the same level as last year, which is quite an achievement”.
