Members of Pocklington Rotary Club recently planted 5,000 purple crocus corms in a prominent section of the Balk near the roundabout opposite the Sainsbury’s store.

The planting is part of the nation-wide Purple 4 Polio campaign which creates awareness of Rotary’s attempt to eliminate polio from the world once and for all.

Funds for the project are derived from the sale of crocus corms, in association with the Royal Horticultural Society.
