A GOLF club in Pocklington is investing nearly £4million on building 24 new lodges to meet growing demand.
The KP Club, which is also hoping to build a new spa and gym facility, will be hiring several new staff over the next few months as part of its expansion.
Lucy Eyre, operations director at the club, said: “Demand has grown for lodge stays, especially as we have weddings here, conferences, golfing stays etc.”
She added: “The expansion here at The KP means that we will also be helping to improve employment opportunities in the local area.
“We are taking on even more additions to our existing team, and are currently recruiting for another head chef, and also a marketing, sales and events manager, as well as the need for more serving staff, events and house keeping team members.”
The 24 new lodges will include a mixture of three and four bedroom buildings. The first phase of the development will see a dozen new lodges built by July this year.
The KP Club received planning permission to build the lodges in June 2011.
