A large scale housing development with about 340 new homes could be built in Pocklington.

The proposed site for the major project is on Yapham Road, which is site POC-A in the East Riding Local Plan. The Plan proposes 1,250 new homes for Pocklington over the period to 2029.

Developer Bellway Homes has prepared draft plans for a scheme for around 340 new homes, open space, access roads and landscaping on the land.

The plans for the Yapham Road development will go on display at a public exhibition in All Saints’ Church, Pocklington, on Monday (30 November). The local community are invited to attend, speak to a member of the development team, and share their views.

People can drop-in to the exhibition on Monday anytime between 3.30pm and 7.30pm. Anyone unable to attend the exhibition but wanting more information or wishing to share their thoughts about the proposals can visit the project website - www.yaphamroad.co.uk - where there is the facility to submit comments online.

All thoughts and suggestions received as part of the consultation will be carefully considered and used to shape the proposals before a planning application is submitted to East Riding of Yorkshire Council. Subject to planning, it is anticipated that work on the development would commence in late 2016.
