Keen photographers snapped up accolades at Pocklington Camera Club’s annual awards ceremony.

Held at the United Services Club, on Pocklington’s Waterloo Square, the award for ‘photographer of the year’ went to Paul Raybould, who also won the award for ‘print of the year’.

Andy Wragg won the award for the ‘most improved photographer of the year’ and Graham Vulliamy received the award for ‘best digital photo of the year’.

Alex McGregor, from the camera club, said: “Generally the camera club has again had a good year with membership numbers remaining strong. The clubs photos are now shown on the cinema screen at the Pocklington Arts Centre before the main movie and we are proud of our involvement within the community at events such as the Flying Man Festival and Christmas late night shopping.

“Our collaboration with the Pocklington Post and West Wolds Radio also helps raise the profile of the club and we are glad that our assistance is contributing to the local coverage provided by these valuable services.

“We would once again also like to thank the committee, staff and members of the United Service Club in Pocklington for putting up with us every Thursday night and allowing the us the use of their excellent facilities.”
