VOLUNTEERS at Sue Ryder Holme Hall who have clocked up 84-years of volunteering between them had a special party thrown in their honour.
Senior management members from across the charity, including health and social care director Steve Jenkin, celebrated with the group of 16 volunteers at the hall in Holme on Spalding Moor.
Karl Roberts, care centre manager at the hall, said: “Locally Sue Ryder Holme Hall has been providing high quality care for over 32 years supporting people with complex care and support needs, living with conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone disease, acquired brain injury and Huntington’s disease.
“Our staff have an in-depth knowledge of caring for people with neurological conditions and are dedicated to providing 24 hour care and support for our residents’ needs.”
He added: “We wouldn’t be able to deliver the range of services we provide for the people who need them most without the priceless support of our volunteers.
“We have about 30 volunteers, five of whom are high school students; helping with a variety of tasks, from supporting with use of computers, art, photography, music and crafts as well as supporting our residents on outings to market towns, seasides, local pubs and restaurants.”
