New CCTV cameras to be installed in Pocklington

Two new surveillance cameras are to be installed in Pocklington town centre to help police tackle crime.

The two new cameras will be put up outside the Feathers Hotel and Judson’s at the beginning of June, one focusing on vehicles entering the area and the other providing a panoramic view of the high street.

The cameras have been put up by the town council in consultation with the police and will enhance Pocklington’s existing CCTV network.

Sergeant Pete Rogers of Pocklington Police, said: “Over the years, we have had good results from the town’s existing CCTV cameras and they have proved a useful tool for detecting crime and helping to reassure the public.”
