A new care home which will accommodate up to 50 residents and create about 40 new jobs for Pocklington is set to open in the town.

Paragon Healthcare Group has built the home on West Green, overlooking the airfield.

The 12-month construction provides purpose-built accommodation for elderly residents, dementia patients and patients with physical disabilities.

The facility, to be called The William Wilberforce, will open around mid-September.
