The initial consultation for the production of a Barmby Moor Neighbourhood Plan has got underway.

A questionnaire is being delivered to all residents and businesses within the neighbourhood area. The creation of the Plan is being led by Barmby Moor Parish Council.

Chairman of the steering group, councillor Stephen Clark, said: “The Neighbourhood Plan is a powerful document that will contain policies that will be taken into account in the future development of our area. Although the production of the Plan is being led by Barmby Moor Parish Council it is not a council document, it is a document written by and for the benefit of the people living and working within our community. We are creating a vision and guide for the future development and conservation of our area.

“That is why it is so important for everyone living or working within our area to complete and return the questionnaire.

“It is your way of letting the steering group know your thoughts, your wishes and your vision of our future. It is your way of helping to write the document.”

One copy of the questionnaire is being delivered to every household and business in the Barmby Moor area and additional copies can be obtained from the parish clerk, Barmby Moor Post Office, the Boot and Slipper pub and Hewson and Robinson petrol station.

Ballot boxes have been set up at the Post Office, pub and petrol station where people can return their completed questionnaires.

They can also be handed to the parish clerk.
