East Riding Council has welcomed today’s Local Growth Fund announcement, which has seen the authority successfully secure millions of pounds of funding for improving the A1079.

The council has pulled off a major coup with a successful bid to the York / North Yorkshire / East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership to help meet costs of improving the A1079.

It has secured £8m towards the circa £14m scheme, which will include dualling a section of the A1079 near Barmby Moor and Wilberfoss.
