East Riding Council will be holding a series of meetings next month, including one in Pocklington, to discuss local transport needs across the county.
Town and parish councils, ward members and representatives from key local groups will be invited to the meetings, where they will be asked for their help in providing East Riding Council with an up-to-date picture of residents’ needs for bus services. The Pocklington meeting is on 6 October at the arts centre. East Riding Council has a statutory duty to secure the provision of bus services which it considers appropriate and which would not otherwise be provided by commercial services, having particular regard for the needs of the elderly and disabled. Meetings are from 6.30pm-8pm.
