Yet another big comedy name will return to Pocklington Arts Centre as the venue’s name on the comedy circuit continues to blossom.
Jason Manford will return to the venue in September following his sell-out tour in the town in 2013.
A nationally known comic, Jason has appeared on Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, QI and The Royal Variety Show.
The venue has bagged some big names recently with tickets for John Bishop, who will take to the stage later this month, selling out in record time.
The return visit of Jason Manford further enhances the venue’s national reputation on the comedy circuit.
Stand up acts such as Chris Ramsey, Rob Beckett and Jon Culshaw have also proved popular this year.
James Duffy, assistant manager at the arts centre, said: “We are extremely pleased to have secured two dates on Jason’s warm-up tour. We feel this highlights how highly regarded the venue and its audiences are.
“We have some fantastic shows coming up in the next few months including the multi-award winning Tony Law on May 6 and Katy Brand’s smash-hit Edinburgh festival show on May 26.”
Comedians such as Sarah Milican, Jenny Eclair, Sue Perkins and Paul Merton’s Impro Chums have taken to the stage in recent years.
James added: “We will be announcing the final headliner (comedy) for Platform Festival within the next fortnight. Please visit the event website for update – platformfestival.net.”
Jason Manford will bring his “Work in Progress” show, ahead of his national tour in 2018, to Pocklington on Wednesday and Thursday September 27 and 28. Tickets will cost £15 each and will go on sale at 10am on Friday April 7.
