A 37-year-old man has appeared before court charged with possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence following an incident in Pocklington.

Humberside Police received call at 1.15am yesterday (Tuesday August 2) following reports that a 24-year-old man had been threatened by another man in Pocklington.

Dwayne Pedder, of Scaife Garth, was arrested by officers attending the incident. He has been charged with possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

Mr Pedder appeared at Beverley Magistrates' Court today (Wednesday August 3) and was committed to Hull Crown Court to appear on September 2.

As part of enquiries police attended All Saints Church at around 3pm yesterday.
