LOOK out for Santa this week as he continues to tour local villages with Rocking Rudolph and his sleigh.
Derwent Lions have been helping Santa on his way round East Yorkshire for years, bringing joy to hundreds of local children and raising thousands of pounds for charity.
This evening Melbourne will be visited by Santa so make sure you’re wrapped up and ready for his arrival at around 6.30pm.
John Newlove of Derwent Lions Club said: “People come out onto the streets to see us and it is very rewarding watching their faces light up when they see us coming round the corner.
“For the last few years we have raised about £5,000 each time which goes to charities both locally and nationally - people are very generous.
“There are only 13 Lions that do it, so we do rely on the help of volunteers, it takes us about three weeks to get round all the villages and we couldn’t do it without help.”
The Lions tour the villages with Santa and Rudolph, giving out sweets and collecting donations for good causes.
