Pocklington had its own Golf Course in the period between the wars.

It was situated on Yapham Road a little more than half a mile from the centre of the town, about where the present day Sherbuttgate estate is situated.

It was still open by 1937 but appears it was closed by wartime, and did not reopen after the war.

Read Andrew’s feature in tomorrow’s (13 March) Pocklington Post.
