Have you ever walked around a place you think you know well and then seen things you knew existed? It happened to me one day last summer.
I was taking pictures for the exhibition boards I was producing for the Stamford Bridge Village History Day, and I started to notice objects and strange little oddities that, unless you knew where to look, could easily be missed.
Early stone work in buildings is still evident on many properties in the village, but Ashburnholme House is possibly the oldest surviving inhabited house, probably converted from a large single storey dwelling in the late 1600s.
