High Street, Market Weighton

As the name suggests, Market Weighton in Medieval times was a market town.

This was established in 1251 by Royal charter from Henry III for a market every Thursday.

This was repealed and replaced by Henry VI in 1458 for a Wednesday market and two fairs per year.
