A total of 922 aircrew gave their lives flying from Pocklington Airfield, and 48 of them are buried in Barmby Moor churchyard with a memorial cross unveiled to their memory in 1952.

A total of 206 bomber aircraft from this station went missing on operations or were lost in UK crashes consisting of 27 Wellingtons and 179 Halifaxes.
