A Classic Car Show at Langlands Garden Centre in Shiptonthorpe on raised £1,184 for the Weighton Wolds Rotary Club.

All the proceeds will go to the club’s charity fund and will be spent on projects to benefit the local community.

The show was so successful that organisers are hoping to make it an annual event at the same time, over the August bank holiday weekend, every year.

More than 80 classic cars were on show and crowds enjoyed summer sunshine.

Chris Clubley, president of the Weighton Wolds Rotary Club, said: “I would like to thank the organisers and supporters for a fantastic effort. It was a stunning show and we look forward to welcoming even more people next year.”

The rotary club meets every second and fourth Thursday of each month at the Bay Horse pub, on Market Place, Market Weighton.
