Restored warthog head at Burnby Hall Museum

A warthog head at Pocklington’s Burnby Hall Museum, which has been without tusks for nearly two years after it was targeted by thieves, has been restored.

The museum has now put the warthog head back on display with a new pair of resin tusks.

Its old tusks, which were valueless, were stolen in April 2012. The museum received a grant from the Yorkshire Museums Trust towards replacing the tusks.
