A scheme has been introduced by a pharmacy in the area to help people quit smoking.

Market Weighton Pharmacy, in the GP surgery on Londesborough Road, is encouraging smokers to take advantage of the ‘Quit Buddy’ scheme, a text service to help people stop smoking via their mobile phone.

All they need to do is text ‘Buddy’ to 61825 and they will receive an acknowledgement text. A personal stop smoking adviser will contact them directly.

Full story in this Thursday’s (12 June) Pocklington Post.
