Market Weighton Town Team are putting on two free shuttle buses between the town centre and the Kiplingcotes Derby racecourse on Thursday 20 March.
The bus service has been set up due to restricted parking near the end of the course.
The Griffin Inn, on Market Place, and Asda, on High Street, will be the collection and drop off points for the free shuttle buses to the course. The bus will be picking passengers up at 9.30am, 10am and 10.30am.
Emma Humphrey, from the Town Team, which was set up to help boost trade on the High Street, said: “The local authority has ruled that the winning post can no longer be accessed or used for parking by spectators and will close nearby lay-bys to prevent pedestrians walking along the A614.
“There will still be some parking at Londesborough Wold Farm but muddy conditions could create a problem.”
In Market Weighton, visitors can look around the town’s shops or relax in one of the local pubs or cafes, which will be open before and after the race.
Market Weighton Town Team are hosting ‘find the miniature bronze Bradley competition’ in the town after the race, to add to the ambience of the event.
The lucky winner drawn from the correct entries will receive £100.
More details will be distributed on the shuttle buses and in the town on the morning of the Kiplingcotes Derby.
The horses taking part in the race will assemble near the winning post at Londesborough Wold Farm, north of Market Weighton, by 12noon before cantering out to the start near the village of Etton. The race itself must be run by 2pm.
