Search for district’s beauty queen

THE SEARCH is on to find the next female ambassador of the district.

If you think you can bring the Miss Scarborough and District crown to the local area now is your chance to enter the 2013 competition.

Diane Yalezo, who is this year’s regional organiser of both the Miss Scarborough and Miss York contests, said: “This is the third year I have had the pleasure of organising the competition which has gone from strength to strength.

“Today’s competition is designed to find a young woman who is intelligent, talented, charismatic, beautiful inside and out, and who will make a good role model and representative for Scarborough and District at the Miss England Grand Final, to bring the crown and title home with her.”

The 2013 competition is open to young women aged between 17 and 24 years, as of 15 June, 2013, who live within 60 miles of Scarborough, must be unmarried and have no children.

The Miss England office is now allowing 16-year-olds to enter the contest, provided they will be 17 as of the national grand final which takes place on 15 June, 2013. The closing date for entries is 22 March, 2013.

Girls can enter now to secure their place in the first stage auditions, scheduled for mid-April.

Successful applicants will go on to take part in the glamorous regional final, due to be held towards the end of April, which will see a new Miss Scarborough and District crowned.

The winner will gain automatic entry to the prestigious Miss England final taking place on 15 June in Torquay, and she will represent the region at various functions during the year.

To enter, email your contact details to Diane at dianeyalezo@yahoo.co.uk. Send her your name, age, height, telephone number, email address and at least 2 photographs of yourself.

Businesses which wish to sponsor the event or donate prizes should email or call Diane on 07864 028302.
