Charitable staff at a Pocklington supermarket recently held a tombola and book stall in aid of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

The staff, from Pocklington’s Sainsbury’s in The Balk, helped raise £200 for the charity.

Sue Scorfield, customer service manager at the store, said: “It was a successful day.”

Hearing Dogs is a national charity which trains dogs to alert deaf people to important sounds and danger signals in the home, work place and public buildings.
