Staff at a Pocklington supermarket teamed up with East Riding Council’s road safety team to encourage children to get active and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

Over three mornings they attended three different schools - Pocklington Community Junior, St Mary and St Joseph Primary in Pocklington and Barmby Moor Primary - and prepared healthy breakfast fruit pots donated by the store. The children helped with making banana and strawberry smoothies in a very unique way, by using a specially designed bike that allowed the children to blend the smoothie whilst cycling. Melina Healy, from the Sainsbury’s store, on The Balk, said: “It was a fun and exciting way to start the morning, and Sainsbury’s Pocklington were very proud to be a part of this.”
