England rugby league coach Steve McNamara headlined a packed programme of inspirational speakers at a conference in Pocklington recently.
The TEDxPocklington conference, held at Pocklington School, considered education and learning in its broadest sense and looked at how we learn and what inspires us through a series of short, carefully prepared talks.
Steve revealed his approach to leadership and shared how he built a strong team around unifying purpose, nurturing talent, bringing out the best in people and removing barriers to success, which resulted in the England team achieving the best performance at the World Cup for some time.
The event also featured speakers from organisations including Relate, the NHS, leading schools and innovative businesses.
TED started in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: technology, entertainment and design.
Since then it has developed into a worldwide community devoted to its mission ‘Ideas Worth Spreading’.
